PharmaRelations certified as Great Place To Work for 5th consecutive year in all Nordics

Having exceptional consultants is the foundation of success for any consulting firm. In service industries, especially those centered on people, excellence in competence, flexibility, and execution is essential. To attract and retain top talent, a company must provide a workplace that aligns with their needs and aspirations.

Understanding this, PharmaRelations started to work with the global consultancy group Great Place to Work years ago to enhance our position as Employer of choice in the Nordic Life Science industry. Over the course of three years, each of our country’s organizations achieved certifications. November 2024 we proudly celebrate the 5th consecutive year of full Nordic certification with excellent results.

While our results remain strong in every region, 2024 has seen a slight dip compared to the consistent stability of previous years. Although the results are still excellent, any downward trend, however small, requires immediate attention.

“As the new CEO of PharmaRelations, starting in November, I have found the comprehensive data from the Great Place to Work survey conducted in October to be incredibly valuable. Together with my team, I am addressing the key areas for improvement, and I am confident we will return to our exceptional historical trajectory next year. In a consulting business, the trust and satisfaction of our consultants are vital to our success, and we must act quickly to address even minor challenges,” says Åsa Uppströmer, CEO of PharmaRelations Group.

Åsa Uppströmer Joins PharmaRelations as CEO

We are excited to announce that Åsa Uppströmer has recently joined PharmaRelations as CEO. Åsa brings a wealth of experience in consulting from her previous role as Branch Manager at Sogeti, part of the global IT consulting leader Capgemini. With more than 12 years of IT consulting experience from several companies, Åsa also has a solid background in Life Science from the Karolinska Hospital’s laboratory and the Clinical Genetics Department, supported by her education as a Biomedical Scientist.

“Åsa was selected for the CEO position because of her extensive consulting background, expertise in IT development and transformation, and strong foundation in life sciences. As PharmaRelations embarks on a new chapter of growth and transformation, her leadership will be instrumental,” says Lena Hofsberger, Chairman of PharmaRelations.

To support this transformation, we have also strengthened our leadership team with three new Vice President roles:

Fredrik Anjou has assumed the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, focusing on refining and strengthening our sales strategy.

Beatrice Öström and Helena Björkman have been promoted to division heads with expanded responsibilities.

Together with Åsa, these leaders form a dynamic Group Management team, which will soon be joined by a new CFO.
